Why Full Armor?
In martial-arts, we wear protective gear to keep us safe. In real life we need to wear protective armor to keep us safe from evil that we face everyday. The name Full Armor comes from Ephesians 6:10 in the Bible.

“Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.”

We chose this verse because we want our students and their families to always be prepared to stand against the evils we face in our everyday lives. God helps all of us stand against evil by giving us the weapons and armor we need to stay strong. We need this spiritual armor everyday so that we will not be weak and easily defeated.

“It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he enables me to stand on the heights. He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze. You give me your shield of victory, and your right hand sustains me; you stoop down to make me great” Psalms 18: 32-35

Ephesians 6 lists the pieces of armor that God gives us.

Belt of Truth
The Belt of Truth is knowing what God says is right. By wearing the Belt of Truth, we are able to resist temptations and evil ways because satan is the “father of lies”. By knowing the truth, we can fight against deception.

Breastplate of Righteousness
The Breastplate of Righteousness is the blood of Jesus, which cleanses us from sin and frees us from bondage of selfish nature. By wearing the Breastplate of Righteousness we recognize natural goodness and sacredness of all life.

Shoes of Peace
The Shoes of Peace is our preparation in God’s Word and knowing Jesus in a deeper way. The Word should be a guide for every decision and choice we make. God’s Word will help bring peace to our hearts in times of trouble.

Helmet of Salvation
The Helmet of Salvation is our eternal salvation through Jesus. We can be delivered from all sins and weaknesses so that we can live forever with God in Heaven.

The Sword of The Spirit
The Sword of The Spirit is God’s Word found in The Bible. This is the only offensive weapon in the Armor of God. The Word of God always overpowers any temptation because God’s word gives us wisdom to apply to every day situations and troubles.

The Shield of Faith
The Shield of Faith is a trust in God, His Word, and His promises. Satan cannot be effective at sowing doubts about the faithfulness of God if we are wearing the Shield of Faith. We all struggle with tempting and accusing thoughts. If we understand God, they will bounce right off your shield of faith
